Philippians 4:4-9New International Version (NIV)

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

My friend Doris Wilson has left earth, last week.  She was a friend to many in this community where I live and I am certain she made new friends when she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina.  When I read this scripture I thought of her...I have spoken of her and to her for years in my writings to encourage myself and others in The Lord.  We talked many times by phone, laughing, crying and just having a ball.  I even remember how we met...More than that, I know and remember, how she made me feel at every encounter of her support and love of God and for me and the Committed Covenant Christian Women at Second Baptist.  Things changed but she and I stayed connected.  I always need to rejoice, fuss and be pushed and she was such a great pusher.  "Janice, you have 15 minutes to cry, whine or fuss.  Then you get back up and move on in Him".  Dr. Doris Ashworth Wilson, my DAW, as I called her was a powerful little shot;straight up, no chaser.  And I  am so blessed to have met and become acquainted with her.  RIH, sweet heart.  I will continue to press.  And, I'll see you when I see you and Him.

Happy birthday to another darling in heaven, Mom, Mrs. Charlotte Cynthia mother in law.
